When finding out a little too late that the true love of your life was there all along. But, only realising this after it seems that they've gone forever.
In parallel, and on a personal level, it is about discovering my true self, just at the time when it feels like the world is over, it feels like time has run out and everyone else says you're too old to take risks and change your life, to change career or do what you love.
But, even despite all odds against, the song is about hope. About not giving up when times are tough.
Written during the first lockdown, and inspired by the closing of the borders and a feeling of isolation. I compared the experience to that of War of the Worlds.
In the music video, I play the role of a post-apocalyptic scavenger, who discovers the spirit of a girl from another long lost world.
lyrics
Let’s stop doing what we are doing,
The most special thing, we had all along.
Let’s stop rushing and trying so hard to achieve,
Perfectionism means we got it all wrong, but it’s already done, it’s already
Too late for us now
For
Falling in love at the end of the world.
I wish that I knew sooner,
But true love has to take time.
I’ll wait for you just a little longer,
What more is a day when you’ve spent your whole life trying to get it right when it’s already right there in front of our eyes?
But it’s already too late for us, for
Falling in love at the end of the world,
Falling in love at the end of the world.
Hold on to our hope for the future,
Keep yourself safe and we’ll meet again,
Out of the chaos, we get a new start.
Tell yourself it’s not yet the end,
Even if we pretend it’s not already too late for us now.
But it’s too late for us, for
Falling in love at the end of the world
Falling in love at the end of the world
Falling in love at the end of the world
Falling in love at the end of the world
Give up,
Or rise above?
Falling in love
At the end of the world.
Give up,
Or rise above?
I’m not giving up,
At the end of the world.
